NORC EAAA Evaluation Baseline Survey
Welcome to the EAAA Evaluation Baseline Survey. This voluntary survey is being administered on behalf of the DoD and Commander, Navy Region Southeast by NORC at the University of Chicago (NORC). NORC is a non-partisan, objective research organization that provides rigorous and reliable research and evaluation services to clients.
This survey is part of an evaluation of the EAAA training. The goal of the survey is to understand what sailors learn as a result of participating in the training and how that compares to people who do not participate in the training.
We are asking all sailors reading this invitation to support the training evaluation by filling out this survey – even if you are not interested in the EAAA training. The survey includes some questions about you, your experiences, and how you think about sexual harassment and assault. This survey is voluntary. You may skip any questions or stop the questionnaire at any time without penalty.
The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete, and you will receive a $10 electronic gift code to Amazon or the Navy Exchange (NEX) for your time.
To take the confidential survey, click “BEGIN”.

AGENCY DISCLOSURE NOTICE
The public reporting burden for this collection of information,0704-0644, is estimated to average 15 minutes per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering, and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information. Send comments regarding the burden estimate or burden reduction suggestions to the Department of Defense, Washington Headquarters Services, at whs.mc-alex.esd.mbx.dd-dod-information-collections@mail.mil. IT INFO: DISPLAY “BEGIN” BUTTON CENTERED ON SCREEN.
You will now begin the NORC EAAA Evaluation Baseline Survey. Your survey responses are completely confidential, and your answers will not be shared with anyone beyond the NORC evaluation team. This means neither your peers nor your Navy chain of command will see your survey responses.
You can go forward or backward in the survey by clicking on the Next or Back buttons.
(DO NOT use your browser’s Back or Forward buttons.)
We will first ask you two questions to determine if you are interested in attending the EAAA training. If you express interest in attending the EAAA training, and are then randomized to participate in this round of the EAAA training, NORC will share the contact information you provide (but NOT your other survey responses) with the NATTC EAAA team so they can send you an invitation to the EAAA training session.

Who is NORC at the University of Chicago?
NORC is a not-for-profit research organization that is working with the Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC) and the DoD Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office (SAPRO) to evaluate the Enhanced Assess, Acknowledge, Act (EAAA) resistance training currently being offered at NATTC. For more information, visit www.norc.org.
How do I know this survey is confidential?
Your survey responses are completely confidential, and your answers will not be shared with anyone beyond the NORC evaluation team. The baseline and follow-up surveys will ask you a majority of the same questions. All survey responses will be stored separately from your name, email, and cell phone number. Survey responses from each sailor will be linked across time to help evaluate the EAAA training by assigning each sailor a unique ID number upon completion of this first baseline survey. This unique ID number will link your survey responses across time, while maintaining confidentiality. NORC will only use your contact information to deliver electronic gift codes and other evaluation-related communication. Your name, email, and cell phone number that you provide in this survey will not be stored with your survey responses. If you have the opportunity to complete the EAAA training, your name and cell phone number will be shared with the EAAA implementation team; otherwise, your name, email, and cell phone number will not be shared with anyone outside of the NORC evaluation team.
How long will this survey take to complete?
The survey will take about 15-20 minutes to complete.
Why should I participate?
The benefits to your participation may include better prevention programming and less sexual harassment and sexual assault at NATTC and Navy overall. Benefits may accrue to NATTC staff, who can use the evaluation results to improve prevention programming efforts to support a safer environment for sailors and staff on base.
Any immediate benefit to me?
If you choose to participate in the survey today, NORC will email you a $10 electronic gift code redeemable of your choosing (Amazon or the Navy Exchange (NEX)) upon completion. If you also complete the follow-up survey in six months, NORC will email you an additional $20 electronic gift code.
Do I have to take this survey?
No, you do not have to take the survey. It is voluntary, but we would very much appreciate your participation. Additionally, if you are interested in participating in the EAAA training, you will need to complete the survey to express interest in being randomized into the training.
What is this survey about?
The survey includes some questions about you and how you think about sexual harassment and assault.
