The goal of the study is to understand what terminology and concepts are clear or not understood by our audience, so that we can revise materials to reflect our customer needs.

• Intended use of the resulting data (e.g., provide suggestions for improving community-based programs):
  The resulting data will be used to create suggestions on how we can edit our current materials for clarity or create guidelines for future materials.

• Methods to be used to collect (e.g., prospective cohort design; randomized trial; etc.):

Survey

• The subpopulation to be studied (e.g., school-age children in North Carolina, conference attendees):

State and local public health agency staff

• How data will be analyzed (e.g., logistic regression, descriptive statistics):
  The survey asks participants to highlight words that are clear, unclear, or that they don’t understand. The data will be synthesized to identify terms that are most confusing to our audience. Then, we will create guidelines to support users in better understanding.
